I happened to watch and like the movie long time ago, around 2009 if I'm not mistaken. I remember I loved Han Hyo-jo as the female lead there, but I didn't like the male lead there. Sorry for the fans hehehe. I did remember, too, that I used to watch quite a lot of Korean movies with some absurd themes, including this one. But, I never thought I would read the manhwa version this year, 2021. I thought the movie was based on this webtoon, but then after I finished the book, it's a book adaptation after the movie. Naruhodo. But, now I don't watch Korean movies nor drama anymore since I'm hooked into Japanese drama and movies. LOL.
The manhwa version was exactly similar to the movie as far as I can recall. I don't know how many times, or how I could remember the details of the movie that I was waiting for this and that scenes while reading the book.
The story is about someone- a postman- whose job is to deliver the written mails to heaven. What does it mean? Well, some people felt empty, lost, miserable, after their loved ones perished. The only way to condone their feeling is to write a letter, and rumour said that if people wanted their letters delivered, they should post it into a mail box on a hill, where a handsome postman would deliver it. Ha Na was one of the people who wanted to send the letter. She got broken heart after her ex-boyfriend cheated on her. Instead of yearning to meet her ex, she wanted to deliver her angst to him. She gladly cursed him to death. Never had she thought she would meet the one- the postman-who would deliver her letter.
From here, she found out that there was some fishy things about the postman. But then, she nded up assisting the postman for taking care of the mails. During her assistance, she encountered many things, especially about the people who sent the letters; a father who ost his son, and thinking that what he did was wrong that he didn't ask for apology until his son died, another father who lost his son in a war, and and other things. Ha Na, who at first, thought that her loss was unbearable started to think that hers was nothing compared to those people.
I'm used to reading Japanese manga, but when I read this manhwa, I wonder that I could follow the direction correctly (I mean that in Japanese manga, you read from right to left, but this one, you read from left to right). But, I was a bit disappointed to see the postman illustration. Well, as I said earlier, I didn't like the actor who played as the postman in the movie (his hair style is unbearable, his face is emotionless, etc), but the illustration here is even more disappointing hahaaha. I expect to see an ikemen with messy short hair, not the one with long hair. I even thought that the postman was female since at first glace, he had some similar figures as Ha Na. LOL. Well, I don't mean to be rude to the illustrator, but since I watched the movie first, that's why I have a picture of the postman in my mind.
But overall, I enjoyed reading the manhwa. It's nostalgic to read the book released in 2012. I intended to watch the movie after reading, but, I got piles of Japanase dramas waiting to wacth hahaha.... But later, I would
The movie trailer released in 2009
